Basket Strainer
A flanged basket strainer captures coarse solids in pipelines and can be cleaned and reused. Often installed upstream of pumps, valves and instruments.
Operating Principle
Liquid enters the strainer body and passes through a perforated or mesh-lined basket. Solid particles are retained inside the basket while filtered liquid exits through the outlet. When debris accumulates, isolate and depressurize the line, remove the cover and clean the basket before reinstalling it.

Basket Strainer or Y-Strainer?
A basket strainer generally offers a larger debris-holding basket and convenient access for cleaning. A Y-strainer is often more compact and suited to cleaner fluids or smaller spaces. Choose based on solids loading, line layout and maintenance access.
